Title : Website-Redesigning for Public Library

Estimated Budget : Looking For Best Proposals

Description:

We are a USA based organization, seeking proposals from qualified and experienced service provider to redesign our website and to develop a new platform to manage it. We are a medium sized public library serving 75,000 residents of the City. Our current website is difficult to navigate; design (particularly the graphics) has become outdated; does not meet current standards for accessibility; difficult for staff to further develop or adapt the current web site, contributing to a site; etc. We are looking to launch the redesigned web site to the public by July 1, 2010.
Scope of Services:

  1. Design intuitive information architecture with a focus on usability, accessibility, and ease of navigation. The web site design will be user centered.
  2. Accessibility: Users will be able to effectively and efficiently access the Library’s web site using all relevant versions of commonly used web browsers.
  3. Interactivity: Users will be able to interact with library staff and others users, participate in creation of content, and will be offered opportunities for personalization.
  4. Quality and scope of web site content reflects the same richness and breadth of service, programs, and collections that users find in the buildings and through outreach services. Redesign pages so that they are less text-driven and more open.
  5. Maximize the potential of the web. Use the web site redesign as an opportunity to develop a more comprehensive, systematic approach to library external relations, using tools such as RSS feeds, blogs, and an improved calendar to publicize library events in the community.
  6. New graphic look/treatment: The Library’s redesigned web site will be attractive, modern, and solicit users to visit and revisit.
  7. The site design will be consistent throughout, with each section reinforcing the whole. The use of photographs, typefaces, and graphic elements should remain relatively uniform throughout. The design will complement the Library’s existing brand, logo, and color scheme.
  8. Implement Drupal to simplify staff processes for content creation, updating, and maintenance.
  9. The new web site must be flexible, scalable, and adaptable to future needs of the Library and its users.
  10. Provide full reporting and analysis on use of the site and web site traffic (e.g., Google Analytics).
  11. Include the ability to incorporate multi-media content, pod casts, archived sound and video related to library programs, training, and events.
  12. The new web site, including domain names, design, logo, images, products, and information, shall become our property.

We are looking for Best Proposals. Last date to ask questions about the tender is October 5, 2009. Interested Service Providers are requested to send their proposals on or before October 9, 2009 by 15:00 Hrs (Local Time) on given address. This tender is Global and Offsite. Provider may have to visit our locations for meetings and briefings.
